Transforming Bankers to Testers
Janakiram - Delivery Manager, Thinksoft

More often than not, Bankers have felt that their vendors (Testing, Software etc) need to have a fair understanding of the domain so that they can relate to their pain areas and hence address them better. The vendors on the other hand, who are experts in their specific technology area, assume they have a good understanding of the domain and go on to develop offerings which sometimes may not exactly meet the Banking Financial Services and Insurance organizations’ (BFSI) specific needs.

It is for this reason that we believe, bringing in bankers into testing makes a successful testing engagement for BFSI:

  • Bankers add domain expertise to testing - having been on the other side of the fence, they bring in the domain perspective to testing.

  • Their ability to replicate the business user/financial institutions’ thought processes

  • Their ability to visualize end-to-end business/transaction scenarios etc.
