Sankaran has over 30 years of rich and varied experience in the Banking Industry. He has worked as a senior functionary in the largest commercial Bank of India. He has significant exposure to key banking domains, both in planning and operations and has held very critical positions. He has over 10 years of experience in handling various IT Projects in the Bank. He was instrumental in putting in place processes and methodologies for end-to-end management of the Bank's aggressive core banking project. He was also involved in the entire project life cycle, covering gap analysis, drawing up of functional specifications, customization of the software, User Acceptance Testing, integration of channel banking through on-line, real-time interfaces, process changes, roll-out, training, and change management, as well as in setting up MICR centres for the Bank. The Core Banking Project with its aggressive roll-out at 3,000 branches of the Bank, was a one of its kind project and was one of largest such roll outs in the country. Quality assurance and user comfort through a rigorous software testing process, bug fixes, functionality enhancements and mid-course corrections were areas of expertise gained over a four year period of driving this ambitious project. He put into place logistics and linkages towards successful roll-out and aggressive scaling up, and conceptualised and implemented a robust Service Desk (Help Desk) for Core Banking, ATM and Internet Banking Projects. He has also ensured development and implementation of a highly user-friendly and interactive e-Learning Solution for the Core Banking Project. |
