Brief Description:
The growing use of RIA, specifically AJAX and Adobe Flex in mission critical applications increases the need to perform load and performance testing before deploying to production. In this seminar you will learn about the importance of performance testing and how a professional load testing tool like WebLOAD can be used to test the performance, scalability and reliability of Rich Internet Applications.
Long Description: The growing use of RIA, specifically AJAX and Adobe Flex in mission critical applications increases the need to perform load and performance testing before deploying to production. In this seminar you will learn about the importance of performance testing and how a professional load testing tool like WebLOAD can be used to test the performance, scalability and reliability of Rich Internet Applications.
Agenda: Introduction to performance testing (5 minutes)
In this part we will cover the following topics:
- What is performance testing?
- Why is performance testing important?
- Approaches for performance testing of distributed web applications
Introduction to WebLOAD (10 minutes)
In this part we will describe the WebLOAD architecture and explain the general flow of work with WebLOAD, which includes test-script authoring: recording, editing, debugging; Load session definition; Load session execution and monitoring; and Load Session analysis & reporting.
Load testing RIA-based web sites (10 minutes)
This part we will focus on using WebLOAD for load testing RIA, covering the following topics:
- Recording Flex / AJAX applications
- Editing and parameterizing the test script
- Verifying the response
- Monitoring Flex statistics
Profile: Amir joined RadView in November 2006 to manage the Product Management team and lead the planning of the product roadmap. Prior to joining RadView, Amir spent 10 years at Elbit Systems, where he designed, developed and project-managed large-scale turnkey programs for the defense sector. Before joining Elbit,
Amir served for 7 years as a software developer in the Israeli army’s top computer engineering unit. Amir holds a B.A. in Computer Science from the Israeli Open University and an MBA from Tel Aviv University.
