Gangadharaiah C.P. (Ganga) joined Wipro Systems in 1995 to head the telecom business of Nortel (a customer). He built the wire line business of Nortel to more than 500 people. He was awarded the Group President Award for building the Nortel business. He then moved on to handle other telecom businesses comprising of more than 35 customers with different technologies and geographies. He then moved to the Testing Services Business Unit (known as Interop Solutions) during December 1999. He built the business unit to more than 6000 people in a span of 7 years addressing multiple customer segments and geographies.
In a career at Wipro that almost spans more than 12 years, Ganga has the unique distinction of moving across the technology and enterprise spaces of the organisation with ease, gathering a deep insight into both segments.
Ganga moved to the role of Sr Vice President and Global Head of Testing Services in Oct 2005. Under his leadership, the Testing group is recognized as the largest third party offshore testing service provider in the world (2005, AMR Report). Ganga focussed on building a strong team with testing centric foundation competency along with domain competencies to address specific needs of different industry verticals. Also, he built a strong differentiated specialized service lines namely in the area of Packaged Application Testing, Performance Testing, Test Consultancy. Developed domain centric test solutions, frameworks, built relationships with a number of leading test tool vendors.
Ganga did his MS Degree in Computer Science from the University of Alberta, Canada, preceded by a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He has a Bachelors degree from the University College of Engineering, Bangalore, in Electrical Engineering and is a First Rank holder for the University.
