Ashutosh Tiwary is currently the Product Unit Manager for Testing Tools, Microsoft Visual Studio Team, Microsoft, Redmond. In this role, he manages the team that defines, builds and delivers the next generation of testing products as part of the VSTS family of application lifecycle management tools.

Prior to this, he was also the Senior Architect for Microsoft Visual Studio Team System responsible for the architecture and technology direction of VSTS. Although a relatively recent addition to the Microsoft team, he brings a wealth of experience in tools and technology for application life-cycle management, with over 20 years of experience in the computer industry.

More recently, he was a co-founder and CTO of Performant, a diagnostics tool company that was based on his PhD Thesis work from the University of Washington. At Performant Ashutosh and his team were building tools for instrumenting and analyzing the performance of enterprise applications built in Java/J2EE, .NET and other platforms.

When Performant was acquired by Mercury in 2003, he joined Mercury as the Vice President of Diagnostics. There he ran both R&D and professional services teams to build and deploy diagnostics products for Mercury.
