Is your QA organization giving you a competitive edge? |
Srinivas received an MS in Computer Science from Colorado State University and a B Tech. in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, India. |
Today’s development environment is characterized by fast release cycles and less emphasis on rigorous structure which creates additional demands on the QA organization to deliver well tested products and solutions. How do you turn this into an advantage and create a QA organization that actually gives you competitive edge? What are the key drivers that the QA organization should influence, and how do you do this? How do you drive better predictability around the quality of your software products? How do you deliver value that can be translated into business drivers? We have all heard the management maxim “You cannot manage something that you cannot measure.” The corollary to this is that your results depend largely on what you measure. What do you need to measure to truly raise the quality bar on your products? What do you need to measure to demonstrate the value driven by your QA organization to senior management? How do you motivate your team to go beyond merely filing bugs, and take ownership of product quality and pride in their work? In this presentation, Srinivasan will address these questions holistically, and look a ways to address these challenges from an organizational, individual and management perspective and articulate ways in which you could elevate QA to a core business function that drives business value to organizations, and gives them a lasting competitive advantage in the marketplace. |
